Owning a prestigious sports car, collector car, or boutique supercar in a city like Los Angeles can be quite the predicament. It’s no secret that there isn’t exactly an abundance of open space in LA, and not everyone has an extravagant multi-car garage to store a fleet of dream machines in. Nobody quite knows this struggle like automotive journalism extraordinaire and The Smoking Tire founder Matt Farah.
That very struggle is why Farah founded Westside Collector Car Storage– a boutique climate-controlled storage facility quite literally stacked to the ceiling with millions of dollars worth of some of the most iconic cars in history. From a low-mileage Porsche 918 Spyder to a humble Volvo 240, WCCS has one of everything.
Groundbreaking Storage in a Ground-Shaking City
WCCS is far more than just a warehouse building for storing cars. It’s a facility built by car people for car people. During its five-year planning and construction phase, Farah and the team left no stone unturned to ensure the facility came to be everything they wanted it to be. The level of attention to detail is perhaps best outlined by the concrete ramp leading into the underground parking area.
Farah explained that they used a C7 Corvette ZR1 to benchmark the ramp. Why? It’s the lowest production car that doesn’t use a nose lift system. So, using this to establish the grade ensures that even the lowest cars won’t scrape on their way down. As a result, he told us that a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ happily cruises up and down the ramp without issue.

WCCS is a world of firsts in the automotive storage industry. Farah explained that WCCS is home to the first indoor quad-stacking car storage lifts. Additionally, they are the first quad-stackers over a basement and the first quad-stackers rated for hefty seismic activity. If you’re a fan of The Smoking Tire, you likely saw the episode of the TST Podcast (recorded on-site at WCCS) with guest James May where they experienced an earthquake. After which, not a pin was out of place.
In addition, WCCS also has a full indoor wash and detail bay. Washing and detailing are services included in the storage plan at WCCS. In addition, vehicles are kept on trickle chargers and routinely started to ensure they’re healthy and ready to roll when their owners are ready for a cruise.
Exquisite Services and Storage for Virtually Anything

WCCS is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 4 PM on weekends. Its single-car valet service means owners can enjoy their cars as frequently as they like. Whether they’re looking for long-term storage for occasional visits to Los Angeles or daily storage to keep their pride and joy out of the sun while they’re at work, WCCS can handle it.
WCCS stores more than just cars too. They can store boats, trailers, and motorcycles. They also offer Level 2 EV charging and 110V power for charging EVs under long-term storage. Genuinely, WCCS is setting a new standard in collector car storage. Understanding that genuine automotive enthusiasts are behind it makes perfect sense.
Quickly, I’d like to thank Matt for graciously giving us a tour of the facility and offering everyone the opportunity to take the tour via video, too. Indeed, if I’m ever in a position to own one of my supreme dream cars, my first course of action will be to land it a spot at WCCS.
